Last Friday, Blender and Fastmount Ltd were awarded Silver at the Best Design Awards for the Non-Consumer Product category. The Best Awards are the biggest and most anticipated Design Awards in New Zealand and the finals ceremony did not disappoint! It was an extremely busy night spent with top NZ designers at the Viaduct Events Centre. It’s always great to be surrounded by people who all work to raise the bar of New Zealand design.

Blender creating successful products ten years

The Blender and Fastmount teams worked together to bring the Fastmount Textile Clip System to life. Fastmount’s expertise in panel mounting systems and Blender’s team of skilled design experts transformed this idea into an award-winning product. Working together meant problem-solving in less time with greater results! The teamwork between Fastmount and Blender really shows that collaboration is the key to success.

“It’s awesome to celebrate successes of some of the best in the business at Best Awards. I’m proud that New Zealanders are raising the bar with design. Working with Fastmount, we created an award winning product that is well designed and makes a positive difference for its users.”

– Ben Thomsen, Director of Blender Design Ltd

What is the Best Awards?

The Best Design Awards is put together by The Designers Institute of New Zealand. It is an annual showcase of graphic, spatial, product, interactive and motion design. Big congratulations to Ben Corban and Danny Coster for being awarded the prestigious Black Pins this year.

From idea to award winning product…

Cushions on super-yachts don’t have the easiest of lifestyles… They endure constant removal and replacement and have previously been secured with archaic systems that are time-consuming and just not well designed for the job. This is frustrating for crew members and not very aesthetically pleasing for super-yacht owners. Fastmount realised there’s a need for a better system that would please owners, crew members, and boat builders.
